I love Getting Alone With God Dr Theresa Phillips

I've been in the garden observing how the wheat and the tares grow together, and it’s quite a fascinating experience, filled with lessons and laughter. The juxtaposition of these two plants serves as a metaphor for life itself, where good and bad often coexist side by side, each thriving in its own way. LOL

But it's quite a task to keep it bright and clean. The weeds seem to multiply overnight, and I find myself pulling them out by the roots, determined to maintain the beauty and health of my garden.

It requires constant vigilance and effort, yet the rewards are so worth it. I've seen many of my plants eaten by slugs and more, those pesky little creatures that seem to have a personal vendetta against my hard work. I'm so glad I can feed them, too, Ha!

In the meantime, I am still anticipating the harvest with great excitement and hope. The thought of fresh carrots, beets, potatoes, herbs, onions, and more fills me with joy. Each seed I planted holds the promise of nourishment and sustenance, not just for my family but also for friends and neighbors who may share in the bounty.

Yet lately, I love looking at it and appreciating the beauty of God's creation. The vibrant colors of the flowers, the lush greens of the leaves, and the intricate patterns of nature all remind me of the artistry of the Creator.

Even in the nasty rainstorms, I see how the plants react and hunker down, resilient and steadfast. They bend but do not break, a powerful lesson in perseverance.

I've watched the fountain fill up, and when the sun comes out, the birds can't wait to dive in, splashing joyfully as they refresh themselves. On super hot days, I've often seen birds taking turns to get to the fountain, a delightful display of community and sharing among them.

We set up a small pool for the dogs, and I must say, standing in it myself made a difference. It’s refreshing to feel the cool water on my feet, a simple pleasure that brings relief from the heat.

Yet I turn my heart toward the Lord above, thanking Him for strength and the opportunity to do, to be, to have, and to enjoy the small moments that make life beautiful.

I know that sounds silly to some, but to me, it's gratitude. Recently, my husband made us a small spot to dine and feel God's presence with herbs growing and flowers blooming around us, accompanied by a statue of Michelangelo's David that adds a touch of elegance and inspiration. This little sanctuary has become a cherished retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

A few days ago, I sat at that table and noticed some amazing realms around it. There were no birds of prey circling overhead, no hovering mosquitoes buzzing around—just peace and assurance that God is with us, even in times of trials and challenges.

I've seen so many beautiful things from that garden that somehow I ask, how did I let this go for so long? The vibrant life and beauty surrounding me serve as a reminder of the joy that can be found in the simplest of places.

Even though I find it physically tasking in the extreme heat we have had, I do see myself wandering to that spot daily, drawn by the tranquility and the presence of God.

There I find God is waiting for me, ready to listen and embrace me in His love. I can hear the birds chirping and the neighbors' dogs barking joyfully, and there I sit, enveloped in a stillness that is alive with peace. It’s a sacred space where I can reflect, pray, and simply be.

I think it's become my prayer spot where I can say all I need to say to God and walk away knowing He heard and will answer. Today I was singing, "I come to the garden alone while the dew is still on the roses..." The melody filled the air, blending seamlessly with the sounds of nature around me. As I turned back to the cottage,

I realized He has given me strength to get to baking for the bake stand this weekend, an opportunity to share my love for cooking and the fruits of my labor.

And now I'm ready with fresh herbs, a fresh grace upon me, and excitement for what tomorrow might bring.

Each day in the garden is a new adventure, a chance to witness the miracles of creation, and I look forward to what lies ahead, knowing that with faith and perseverance, the harvest will be plentiful and fulfilling.

Phill 4 : 13 I can do all things through [Christ who strengthens me.

Blessings to all

Gracefully

Theresa Phillips
