Prophecy

Revelation:
Prophets receive God's secrets and reveal His will, plans, and character (Amos 3:7, Isaiah 46:9-10).

Methods:
God communicates through writing, angels, visions, dreams, and direct speech.

Divine Origin:
Prophecy comes from God, with humans speaking as they are "carried along by the Holy Spirit" (2 Peter 1:21).
Purpose

Building Up (Edification): Strengthening believers in faith and teaching God's truth (1 Corinthians 14:3).

Encouragement & Consolation (Exhortation): Cheering up and calling people to God (1 Corinthians 14:3).

Foretelling & Forth-telling: Predicting future events (foretelling) and speaking God's truth into present situations (forth-telling).

Revealing God's Heart: Showing God's desire for relationship and His nature.
