Things are getting wild here at Dove Cottage, and the excitement is palpable as we embark on a new adventure that we never could have imagined just a few months ago. The atmosphere is buzzing with anticipation and a bit of nervous energy, as we prepare to take a leap of faith into the world of retail.

Recently, we went for a drive, seeking inspiration and perhaps a little escape from our daily routine. During this excursion, we stumbled upon a charming establishment known as the Painted Tree Boutiques.
As we explored this delightful spot, it became increasingly clear that it might just be the perfect place for us to showcase our skincare products. Located in Bloomingdale, IL, the Painted Tree was bustling with activity, teeming with foot traffic that suggested a strong customer base.
The environment was not only inviting but also impeccably clean, which further solidified our interest in this potential opportunity.
For about a month, we engaged in heartfelt prayers, seeking guidance and clarity about whether this was the right path for us.
After much contemplation and spiritual reflection, we ultimately decided to step forward in faith, trusting that this venture was meant to be.
With excitement and a hint of trepidation, we signed up and officially placed some of our products in the store. What unfolded next was nothing short of astonishing; I had initially thought that we were merely renting a shelf space, but to my surprise, we were granted the entire space!
This revelation opened up a world of possibilities for us, allowing us to create a more immersive experience for our customers.
Another unexpected delight in this journey has been the enthusiasm of my husband. His eagerness to help with this new endeavor has been a true blessing and a miracle in its own right.
Together, we are diving into this project, combining our efforts and creativity to bring our vision to life. We are gearing up for our grand opening on March 21, coinciding with the Eggstravaganza event, and we are filled with hope and optimism about what lies ahead. PLEASE PRAY FOR US!
Who would have thought that at this stage in our lives, we would be stepping into the role of store owners? As I pondered this new chapter, I found myself grappling with a wave of nerves. What will everyone think of us? After all, we are not exactly spring chickens embarking on a new business venture. Would we face ridicule for our bold choice? Would we even find success in this competitive landscape?
Amidst my worries, I came across an inspiring article about Martha Stewart, who opened her restaurant at the remarkable age of 84. While I am fully aware that she has resources and a team to support her, which we currently lack, I found inspiration in her story.
It sparked something within me, prompting me to pray even more fervently about our own journey. I began to realize that our products—crafted with care and intention—would undoubtedly meet a need in the market.
This brought to mind the story of Esther, who underwent twelve months of preparation with fragrances, cosmetics, oils, and purification rituals. Her journey was one of transformation and purpose, and I felt a deep connection to her story. I knew that I couldn’t give up on the vision that God had entrusted to us.
The oils, the skincare, the fragrances we offer—what if they could bring about a profound transformation in someone's life? What if our products could provide that small boost of confidence that empowers someone to step out of their shell and truly flourish?
Moreover, I began to contemplate the legacy we might leave for our grandchildren. What if we missed the opportunity to create something meaningful that they could look up to? These thoughts weighed heavily on my heart, and just when I thought I had reached the end of my contemplation, I gently heard an old song playing in my mind. It was a familiar tune that reminded me of hope, dreams, and the courage to pursue them, no matter the obstacles.
This melody became a source of encouragement, reinforcing my belief that we are on the right path and that our journey is just beginning.👇🏻
