Here is a bit of understanding why the Church is in a place of chaos, a situation that many observers and participants alike have noted with concern. The complexities surrounding this turmoil are multifaceted and deeply rooted in both spiritual and practical dimensions.
The Church is not run as a democracy; it is run as a Monarchy with Jesus as our King. This fundamental truth shapes the very foundation of our faith and governance within the Church. Unlike democratic institutions where decisions are made based on majority rule, the Church operates under the sovereign authority of Christ, who is the ultimate authority and guide for all believers. This monarchy is characterized by a hierarchy that places Jesus at the top, followed by appointed leaders who are meant to serve under His divine mandate.
Our mandate as Christians is to advance a Kingdom that has no end. This Kingdom is not confined by earthly limitations or temporal concerns; rather, it transcends time and space, embodying the eternal nature of God's reign. As ambassadors of this Kingdom, our role is to actively participate in its expansion, spreading the teachings and love of Christ to all corners of the earth. This mission requires a deep commitment and understanding of what it means to be part of a Kingdom that is everlasting, where every action and decision reflects the values and principles of our King.
Our purpose is to be confident in understanding the Plans and Purposes God has for His People. This comes with revelation of position and definition. It is essential for each believer to seek clarity about their role within the Church and the broader Kingdom of God. Such revelation can only be attained through prayer, study of the Scriptures, and a willingness to listen to the Holy Spirit's guidance. When individuals grasp their identity and purpose, they can contribute effectively to the collective mission of the Church, fostering unity and strength among the members.
When people combine the operation of the church with the operation of a democratic rule, we begin to see leaks in the construction and lack of advancement of the Eternal Kingdom. The introduction of democratic principles into the governance of the Church can lead to confusion and misalignment with God's intended order. Instead of seeking divine wisdom and guidance, some may prioritize popular opinion or personal agendas, which can dilute the Church's effectiveness and hinder its mission. This blending of systems can create a church environment that is reactive rather than proactive, focused more on appeasing the congregation than on fulfilling God's commands.
God's Kingdom is ruled by a King that has no end. Sovereignty and Holiness is its standard. Today we see a lack of this as we have seen leaders ascend platforms untried and made relatable to the things of this world. When in fact, they should be teaching the relationship we all must have with the King and His Kingdom. The emphasis on relatability can sometimes overshadow the call to holiness and righteousness, leading to a dilution of the Gospel message. It is imperative that leaders remain steadfast in their commitment to uphold the standards of the Kingdom, guiding their congregations toward a deeper relationship with Christ and a clearer understanding of His will.
Key operative includes:
1. Are you really called into an office? This question prompts deep reflection on one's divine calling and the authenticity of their ministry. It is essential to discern whether the desire to lead stems from a genuine calling from God or from personal ambition.
2. Are you willing to understand sacrifice and purpose? This takes total submission to The Written word. Understanding one's purpose within the Church often involves recognizing the sacrifices required to fulfill that calling. It demands a heart willing to serve and a commitment to the teachings of Scripture.
3. Can you differentiate between being called into an office and being called a Christian? For many are called (into office), but few are chosen (Matt 22:14). This distinction is vital; not everyone who aspires to leadership is chosen by God for that role. True leaders must be prepared to embrace the responsibilities that come with their calling.
4. As called into offices, one must realize the Price Paid to become King/Priest includes great sacrifices for oneself and the people. It's always about the people. This acknowledgment of sacrifice is crucial for those in leadership positions. They must be willing to lay down their lives for the sake of those they serve, embodying the selfless love of Christ in their actions and decisions.
Blessings to all; let’s Grow in God. The journey of faith is one of continual growth and transformation, and as we seek to deepen our understanding of God's Kingdom, we must remain open to His leading and guidance.
