WOW what a time we've had!! TESTIMONY!

WOW, what a time we've had! TESTIMONY!

When our church was younger. Now 37 years in August...

I couldn't have had a better compliment!

We started our church in the old annex of our farmhouse, to find out later it was the first Baptist church in the area, and many of the farmhands would come to church there!

On the first day of service, we had 16 people, and 4 were children. On the 4th week, we had 9 children, and within a year, we had to move to a storefront in Geneva.

After the storefront, we moved to a warehouse that could seat 200...

We've had many children come through the doors, but there were a few that really, really touched us.

We had children's church, and yes, it was church.

Why? Because the kids saw how much fun the parents were having in church singing and worshipping, and so much love that they had to PREACH in children's church. They would mimic what they saw...

They would take turns coming up with messages...

This threw out the planned program, except when it came to the God and Country program... That had no debate!

Teaching principles of duty, responsibility, and community was a mandate God gave us.

Last week, one of those kids called me and said,

"Remember that scripture 'Touch not my anointed'? Remember 'Do my prophets no harm'?"

"Yes," I said.

"I've been anointed, I've preached and prophesied."

"Yes," I said.

"Well, it seems to me that people might not mess with God's anointed and the prophets."

"Yes," I said. "Now go walk in it."

Oh, how much a blessing!

Out of our church (we are a denomination, yes, but still under authority)

As I reflect, I realize we have had 3 earn their doctorate,

ordained over 300 into ministry, and seen 11 raised from the dead, including 2 fish and a dead rose bush...

I can't even begin to express the gratitude I have for Jesus, who looked at a small woman 39 years ago and audibly out of the ceiling of the church said, "I've called you into the ministry."

What a ride we have had! The highs, the lows...

The signs, wonders, miracles, and then COVID nearly breaking us. The heartache of folks leaving... and the blessings when new ones come.

Blessings of GOD and fights with the Devil...

But in all this experience, I'd never quit. God is just too good.

Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
