The Power of Thanksgiving Dr. Theresa Phillip
Desperate to see Change… One can be thankful in its midst.
Observation is a key to being Thankful in any given moment.
Especially, when things are not being presented in its best light.
As the good book says to be thankful in all things I find myself wondering is this really right?
Ist Thess. 5:18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
Often I am inspired to be thankful. I am driven to be thankful and, I’m fed up being thankful!
Let be honest it’s not easy being thankful in all things.
Still, I can see the hand of GOD... When I look for it.
In the midst of the storm I can light.
In the midst of illness, I can see I’m not as bad off as someone else.
In the midst of loneliness, I can find perfect peace.
Yet, thankfulness is a mindset. And I’ve set my mind on things above.
Colossians 3;2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
We can choose this day to be thankful or pitiful.
Somehow many have lost their joy and have lost focus. And, me to at times.
Circumstances have clouded vision and hope. Family and friend’s disruptions political hacking all around intrusions everywhere. Yet…
Yet I found there is one consolation. And, I find myself visiting there often.
I didn’t have to live in covered wagon.
I didn’t take a long voyage to be free.
I live in a home with lights and a refrigerator.
I can help the poor and love the broken. I can Give hope to the weary and Give Jesus to the world. All from my office if need be.
I can protest in the streets. Vote my choice. Stand and declare the goodness of GOD.
I can use social media. I can sing songs. I can have pets etc..
I’m in America the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Which brings me to this point. HOW BRAVE ARE WE?
Each year we are seeing the demise of what our forefathers had intended. Why? Because we forget to teach.
Remember we are free to protest. But should we? Yes in some case IN every injustice But not in every opinion.
Once we gave our life to Jesus He becomes the Sovereign we have submitted to.
He became our balance and our deliverer of our souls demising.
He trains our hand to war and our mind to be righteous.
He give us anointing’s to heal the sick cast out devils and raise the dead.
He has become our Lord and Savior and that’s what our forefathers intended.
Free from religious suppression, free from taxation without representation and so on.
Free to work live and be.
It took great courage to leave and start new.
Many mistakes were made and yet we are all here.
Today we look back on the sacrifices of men and women and children who took the dare from the Almighty and proved a new world could exist.
And it has.
We are a strong United States. Not just because of its leadership. But because we have the DNA to be strong.
Our ancestors were strong and mighty. Full of Faith and Hope Dreamers and Shakers.
Leaders of the FREE WORLD making the universe envious.
So during this Thanksgiving I choose to be Thankful.
Reserved in unwarranted opinions. And bow my head to the Almighty and declare his goodness and his love. And am thoughtful for the forerunners the forefathers and how far we have come.
I pray for the weary the lost and the broken. The needy we love you and the plans GOD has? Yes, they are for good and not evil.
Jer. 29 11 I be the Forefathers live by this… For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Yes I am so thankful... for everything..
